This just in...

We interrupt the regularly scheduled program (updating our blog from December '07 to the present) to bring you breaking news:

Today is M's 7th birthday!!

Happy, happy birthday little dear--
Happy days will come to you all year!
If I had a wish then it would be--
A happy, happy birthday to you from me!

Usually M has a very difficult time getting up in the morning to get ready for school, but not today! He was so-o excited that it was his birthday that he was up and about a whole hour earlier than necessary and didn't even put up a fight when asked to make his bed on is b-day--thank you M! Once he was showered and ready to go, we had him come downstairs to open presents before going to school--as you can see by the look on his face, he was very happy about this!! Thank you to all who sent presents, cards, emails, and well wishes to M!

M got his "big" b-day present from Big J and Z in CA during his and Lil' J's family b-day party (more to follow in a future post.) He got a Spider Man scooter and has been happily riding it ever since.

Every afternoon in M's class they have snack time and each child is assigned a day to bring snacks to share. M's teacher thought today would be the prefect day for M to bring a snack so...

M will serve up some yummy egg-free, milk-free chocolate cupcakes at snack-time.

After celebrating with his friends, we'll surprise M by checking him out of school a little early. Then we'll pile into our trusty truck with Big J and Lil' J, and drive north a couple hours where we will spend the night. Tonight we'll see the new Veggie Tales movie: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, go to dinner, and then hit the sack early. Saturday morning we will further surprise M as we take him and Lil' J in search of M's most favorite thing in the whole wide world: snow!! Watch for future posts about our "snow fun" b-day adventures!

We now return you to the regularly scheduled program.

Happy Birthday! I can't believe he is 7. That is too awesome! Let me know how your boys like the pirates movie... I was thinking of taking Treston too. His b-day is 20th. Have fun!

Happy Birthday M! What yummy looking treats... our school has gone overboard with the healthy snacks - no treats of any kind, not for birthdays, not for parties... never! Pencils and stickers are only fun for the first few birthdays in the classroom - then it's not so fun anymore... I say, what is wrong with a cupcake!

Those cupcakes are so clever! We have a lolly pop quota that has to be met everyday (one dumb dumb for being good when mom exercizes, one for a speical treat while mom is making dinner). Hope you found the long lost snow!
