Our adventures in San Diego began at Legoland. If you've never been there (this was our first time), it's a fun theme park where almost everything is made out of, or designed to look as though made out of, you guessed it...Legos! A virtual dreamland for Lego fans. : )
M was tall enough to go on all rides accompanied by a parent, though were he just an inch taller he would have been able to go on any ride by himself...he's still lamenting that one last inch--funny boy! J-rod, being the ride enthusiast that I am not, was more than happy to oblige and indulge and rode as many rides with M as time allowed. M's favorite ride was a roller coaster called, The Dragon. Since J-rod and M rode it late in the afternoon near closing time, there wasn't much of a line and they were able to go on it two times which of course only left M begging for more. If you look closely at the middle of the picture, you will find J-rod and M with his hands in the air just before the first drop.
So that we weren't completely left to only admire the works of art created with Legos, Li'l J and I got to go on some fun rides too, we just stuck to the milder ones. : ) Here Li'l J is attempting to pass his driver's test at Legoland's "Junior Driving School." He LOVED the little yellow Lego car, though he had to have lots of help from the driving school staff to keep it moving around the track...he just couldn't quite get the necessary coordination down to work the gas pedal and the steering wheel at the same time!
He ultimately did get his "Legoland Driver's License" and was so-o thrilled with it, he bounded over to show us once they handed it to him...just look at his little face all lit up!
A fun attraction at Legoland was "Miniland USA"...an area of the park dedicated to miniature Lego replicas of landmarks throughout the United States, as well as some from around the world. I think my favorite was...NYC...big surprise! : ) Although, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and the Vegas Strip were pretty cool too!
