San Diego, Day 3

The Gaslamp District

We had a such a nice time in San Diego--it was so fun to be together with nothing else to do but enjoy our time together!! We stayed in the heart of downtown, in the beautifully restored historic "Gaslamp District" that has been refurbished and appears to be have quite a night life--lots of trendy restaurants, bars, stores, clubs, etc. where lots of people go to hang out nightly!

The condo where we stayed had a beautiful view of downtown (including the new baseball stadium--Petco Park--off in the distance) and a nice fully equipped kitchen where we were able to cook for ourselves instead of having to eat out for every meal.

Our condo was up on the seventh floor of an old Art Deco Era Hotel that has been restored and updated--it was beautiful! The weather couldn't have been more perfect--sunny and in the mid 70's all week--just right, not too hot, not too cold!

So basically, day three we took a break, headed to Target for some aloe and Tylenol to soothe our burns, hung out at the condo--played games, watched movies, cheered the BYU basketball team loud and proud...unfortunately to their ultimate elimination from the NCAA tournament, did laundry (the bottom floor of the building had free washer and dryers available for guests...it was so-o nice!!), and went to bed early to catch some zz's and rest up for day four: the San Diego Zoo.
