Return Trip Highlight

Traveling back from Lake Tahoe we came straight down through CA and then over to AZ instead of going through NV to get to AZ...saved us 180 miles. Since we would be passing about 1 1/2 hours from my parents and sister, we called them and asked if they wanted to meet up with us for a short visit. They were more than happy too, so we met for "linner" (a late lunch, early dinner) and celebrated my sister A's birthday a few days early--yay! It was so good to see them!

Before saying goodbye, we asked a nice passerby to take a group photo...unfortunately we were not optimally positioned and there is a horrible glare on all of us, but you get the idea.

A few days later my dad had a minor set back and ended up in the hospital for almost a week. It was discovered through an ultrasound, and later confirmed that his bile duct was blocked and biliruben was backing up into his blood stream. Fortunately his very talented doctors were able to temporarily drain the blockage through a simple procedure and my dad is home again tonight. He will rest up for about a week or so and then return for surgery to fully remove the blockage...at this point there is still some debate as to whether it was a liver stone that caused the blockage, scar-tissue from the reconstructive procedures and surgeries on his digestive system after his stomach cancer last year, or a combination of the two.

We are so happy that he is home, doing well, and resting! We LOVE our Papa and are grateful for everyday we have with him!

I think that Matthew and I have the same thing! It stinks. Great job on recapping Tahoe. It was fun to read and reminisce!

Wow it's amazing to see your family. When I picture A in my head she is still the little she was when we were at BYU. She's not. She's all grown up. Weird how that happens.
