When the Cat is Away...

Saturday while J-rod attended a Stake activity on preparedness that he helped organize, M had a couple friends over. After playing inside for about an hour, the boys headed outside for some fun in the pool.

Both M and Li'l J really enjoyed having E and A over to play and can't wait to do it again!

At the beginning of the swim season Li'l J wanted nothing to do with this float, it was too scary! But now...just look at that face! He was so happy to get himself on to it--way to go Li'l J!

Continuing the Star Wars game from earlier when they were playing inside, here M pretends to be a light-saber wielding Anakin. When M's friends asked which Anakin he was, M answered, "The good one." I didn't even know he knew there was a difference! A hint for those on the look out for Christmas or birthday gifts for M--apparently we have a budding Star Wars fan in our midst.

While the boys had a good time playing and swimming, baby A did what she likes to do best: sleep. There is a bit of a blur to the picture as she was on the move in her swing:

After the play date was over and friends E and A headed home, once J-rod got home we dedicated the rest of our Saturday to a favorite fall past time: football! First we all enjoyed cheering the BYU Cougars on to a sound victory against the UCLA Bruin's...59-0...woo-hoo!! Next we took the kids to cheer on cousin D (who recently moved to the area to play football for a local community college) and his team as they beat the visiting team. Big D got a fair share of play time during which he caught 10 passes for 129 yards and scored the only touchdown for his team. Thanks to his great showing, Big D was named the offensive player of the week for his division--way to go Big D!! We look forward to cheering on Big D at more of his games throughout this season.

Unfortunately we forgot to take our camera to cousin D's game, so here are some pictures of when he came to dinner a few weeks back. Our boys absolutely LOVED having him over (and so did we)!!

Li'l J was a bit shy at first but once cousin D started throwing the football around with him, Li'l J practically glued himself to Big D's side for the rest of the night! Thanks D for being so good to the boys!

Li'l J and Big D teamed up against M and J-rod in a rousing game of Battleship. M's strategy proved to be no match for Big D and M is now gearing up for a rematch!

I didn't notice any blur in the photo of A. She just looks perfect to me! As far as the pool goes... It looks fun and all but I can't say that I miss that hot, hot weather. But now I better understand the reactions I got when I posted pictures of Kaia on our blog in the "off season". The leaves are starting to change colors here and it was a perfect 80 degrees all day today. Not really pool weather anymore.
