WOO-HOO!

Another fun-filled weekend is behind us. Eighteen LONG months of intensive training to prepare J-rod to take the national exam that would qualify him for his work license, finally came to an end Friday--WOO-HOO! We're SO proud of all of J-rod's hard work and are SO happy to have him back on a normal schedule for a bit!!

Friday afternoon I picked up our babysitter extra early so that J-rod, Baby A, and I could meet up with J-rod's class from work, as well as the trainers and crew supervisors, to celebrate and get some preliminary exam results. Preliminary results show that J-rod passed his exams and will receive his license--WOO-HOO!! The results won't be official for another 3-4 weeks as they have yet to be confirmed by the national commission that oversees licensing. Keep your fingers crossed for us that in 3-4 weeks J-rod receives a manila envelope with his license in it!

After the work celebration, we went to a High Priest Group Activity for our ward. Fortunately when our new bishopric was called last month, two young guys (our age) were called as the first and second counselors, so now when the High Priest get together J-rod isn't the youngest one there--WOO-HOO!! The activity Friday night was a fun get together with other couples. We spent the evening snacking on tasty appetizers and getting to know each other better. I discovered a new favorite, easy to make, party dip while at this activity: cream cheese mixed with Pace Picante Sauce--yum-o!! Throughout the night, we played a traditional party game where you share two truths and one lie about yourself and then see if everyone else can guess which one is the lie. Once the lie was discovered about a person, that person went on to tell the story behind the two truths. We learned some fun facts about everyone that night.

1. I've never broken a bone.

2. I didn't graduate from college.

3. I've been deep sea fishing in Alaska before.

We started Saturday out with one of our favorite traditions. When J-rod is home on Saturday mornings he makes YUMMY Belgium waffles for the adults and pancakes made with soy milk for M and Li'l J. This time he had a little helper:

Saturday afternoon we met up with some extended family at Cousin D's last football game of the season. We had a good time visiting with everyone and cheering on Cousin D. Cousin D had a great game, his team won, and they tied for second place in their conference--WOO-HOO!!

After the game, we all headed over to a nearby McD's to indulge the kids and meet up with a cousin none of us had ever met before. It was good to meet cousin M and his beautiful family. As it turns out, they don't live too far from us so we look forward to seeing them again soon.

Sunday some good friends of ours from the ward had us over for dinner. We enjoyed their company and really appreciated that they were willing to watch all three of our little ones while we attended the broadcast of the Mexico City Temple re-dedication. What a neat experience that was, to hear our prophet speak and participate in the re-dedication in Spanish via satellite. It made me very excited for the new temples that are coming to our area in the near future!
