It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

This weekend we began the Christmas celebrations by attending the combined stake Christmas Cantata and Nativity celebration. Those of us present were inspired and uplifted by the beautiful message of Christ that was shared through music, song, story, and display. J-rod and I hope to participate in the choir next year.

Saturday afternoon we got all dressed up in our Christmas outfits and headed over to a beautiful park in the area to have our family pictures taken by a great gal in our ward and her photography partner. We're fortunate that all three kids did really well throughout the photo shoot--not surprisingly our little hams were more than happy to perform well for both photographers! We're super excited to see how the pictures turned out! (Hint, hint Brit...how's that cd coming along?) Once we see the pics, you will too. : )

After pictures were taken, we met up with Cousin D for a yummy dinner one last time before he leaves the area and returns home. We enjoyed each other's company and conversation over delicious meal choices at Carraba's. We had all hoped Cousin M and his cute family would be able to join us, but no such luck this time around. Thanks to G'ma M for the yummy treat!

When I asked Cousin D what he ordered, he appropriately replied, "Deliciousness!" : )

Yum-o, spaghetti-o!

After dinner, Cousin D came with us to pick out our Christmas tree. Since we did this last year, (dinner at Carraba's before picking out a tree) it would seem that we have established a new tradition--yay, we're glad Cousin D got to come along and make some memories! Our boys LOVE Cousin D so much (almost to a fault--they ALWAYS get super excited around him!) and were so happy to have him help them pick out the perfect tree. Thanks D for being such a good sport around our boys--we're all going to miss having you so close by! Good luck on your finals and have a safe trip home!

This is it!

Happy tree hunters!

Oh, and we finished off the weekend by watching the First Presidency Christmas Devotional at home in our warm and comfy winter jammies from Christmas past, all while enjoying our favorite Sunday night dinner--roast with potatoes and carrots!

Looks like a lot of fun! I didn't know you had a real tree every year! Can't believe Christmas is already just around the corner. This year flew by!
