Birthday Fun

This past week we celebrated J-rod's birthday...three days in a row! Monday he opened presents, we took the kids out to TGIFriday's for a yummy dinner, and then we had a fun night swim complete with glow sticks!

Tuesday we took the kids to one of our local zoo's that recently expanded by adding an aquarium. Due to the crazy heat we've had lately, there weren't too many visitors to compete with at the zoo and the animals were eager to interact with their audience. When asked what their favorite part was, M said it was the touch tanks at the aquarium...especially the very active rays and Li'l J said, "the monkeys, like me!"

Wednesday we had some good friends over for a pool party. We all had a blast swimming, jumping, racing and diving in the pool! We took a break for a YUMMY Mexican dinner: 7-layer dip, guacamole, Spanish rice, tacos, and chicken enchiladas. After letting our dinner settle, it was back into the pool for some fun night swimming...with glow sticks for the kids of course! For his birthday dessert we got J-rod two Costco cheesecakes: Key Lime and Strawberry--yum-o! Baby A was more than happy to help her daddy blow out the candles. Thanks for joining us for a great time K, H, and H families, also thanks for all the yummy treats you brought to share with us!

Happy birthday J-rod--we love you and are so happy you are part of our family! You are such a wonderful husband, father, and friend! This next year is going to be another great one--we look forward to spending everyday of it with you.
