When we returned from our trip to Utah--did we mention it was COLD there?? Brr!--we came back to nice, warm weather and were able to enjoy our pool a couple more times before a desert 'cold front' came through. : ) Shortly after our getting settled back into our regular routine, Jared went to Atlanta for a week of work training. Though we missed him, we kept busy and fortunately the week went rather smoothly for us all.
J-rod visits Stone Mountain Park, Atlanta, Georgia
After picking J-rod up from the airport, we headed to dinner and then the pumpkin patch where the kids had a good time in the haybale maze, posing for pictures, and of course picking the perfect pumpkins for carving.

Once J-rod returned, it was full-speed ahead with Halloween preparations. It was so much fun to put up decorations around the house, carve our pumpkins, and get our costumes ready for use later on in the month.
This year for the first time, M completely took care of carving his own pumpkin from start to finish all on his own! When he was finished he was SO proud of the job he had done. Just look at the excitement on his face as he prepares to scoop out the inside of the pumpkin:

Li'l J was not as excited to scoop out the inside of his pumpkin as M was:
Eww!
We were part way through carving our pumpkins when all of the sudden, the power went out! Um, say what? Hmm...well, once we established that it was indeed the whole neighborhood and then some, we pulled out our flashlights, lit a bunch of candles, and went on with the show! What a great memory!
We were so thrown by the power outage that we didn't even think to take any pictures once we were done carving our pumpkins that night. In fact, we didn't get around to it until days later...once they were beginning to shrivel up! Oh well here they are anyhow...Li'l J's: Thomas the Tank Engine; M's Jack O' Lantern (missing it's top two teeth by this point); & C-sta's: a candy corn tottin' little mouse.

Looks like so much fun. Crazy that Brandon and I were at Stone Mountain Park for the MaggieMoo's IceCream conference in October as well. We obviously were in meetings the entire time we were there because we didn't see this piece Jared's in front of!
Cami, you and BJ were at Stone Mountain Park too? How fun! J-rod it seemed like a rather large park with lots to do and if you were kept rather busy at your conference, it's too bad you didn't get to see much of it.
I saw a sign recently advertising that we are getting a second Maggie Moo's in our area--fun!
