November: Fall Festivals

Not far into November we attended a couple of fun fall festivals in our area. The weather was still nice, and yes, as you'll notice in all the pictures...when I say 'still nice' I of course mean 'still short wearing weather!' : )

The first festival was at M's school where there were lots and lots of fun booths with games, food, and crafts that the kids enjoyed.  At the beginning of the evening the lower grades gathered together and sang some fun songs they had been learning for all the crowd to hear.  I wasn't able to get any pictures of the singing because well...the crowd was WAY too big and I as I was on my own, trying to keep track of my two little monkeys AND fight the crowd for a few snapshots just wasn't going to work! Despite not being able to see M through the crowd, it was fun to hear all the kids sing with such enthusiasm!  Anyone in my area who got some pictures, care to share?

After the songs, the kids and I met up with some friends and headed for the hot dog stand.  After we had our fill of hot dogs, soda, and popcorn, off we went to circle the game booths with our good friend J.

Here are some pictures of Li'l J have a fabulous time playing and winning prizes at the many game booths the different grade levels ran.  For those that didn't attend this festival, any guesses as to what Li'l J is doing in the center picture on the bottom row below?  It was definitely a very unique booth, one unlike I'd ever seen at any festival or carnival before...very clever, very clever indeed and it was a HIT with the kids (and that's what matters right?) : )

Wondering why M isn't pictured in any of the above pictures?  Since M is such a big kid now, while Li'l J enjoyed the game booths with mom and C-sta, M got to hang out with his friends...sans mom. M and friends did check in every now and then throughout the night, just for mom's peace of mind. : )  At the end of the festival M met up with us and showed us some of his projects that were on display in his classroom & the hallway .

Every fall our neighborhood holds a big festival at the park with a chili contest, corn on the cob eating contest, music, bouncy houses,  and fun games.  Every year M enters the kids division of the corn on the cob eating contest and always has a good time and full belly. : )  This year even C-sta got in on the festival fun!
