New Year's Eve 2009

A few days after Li'l J's 5th birthday and his visit to the ER we gathered with some college friends of mine that live in the area, for some New Year's Eve festivities.  We met up with the R and A families at the temple where we enjoyed one another's company, beautiful music, the pretty Christmas lights, and the Nativity display.

After our visit to the temple grounds we all headed over to the R's house for the remainder of New Year's Eve.  We began by roasting marshmellow's over their firepit which we used to make yummy smores.  Then A made yummy 'slushies' with her new Ninja (she has the COOLEST kitchen gadets!) and homemade tasty syrups. Once our tummies were filled with all sorts of yummy goodness and our kids were nicely sugered-up, the adults played a rousing game of Settlers of Catan while the kids enjoyed a movie.

Just before the stroke of midnight, we all headed outside to make some noise to help ring in the New Year!  First the kids (and dad's) had fun making all sorts of noise as they jumped all over some plastic wrap we had unrolled onto the sidewalk.  Then we all had fun with noise makers and popper, well...all except Li'l J who kept covering his ears because we were a little TOO loud for his liking.

Whenever we get together with the R and A families we can count on having a good time!  We look forward to our next get together with them.
