Li'l J in March

Throughout March Li'l J continued to enjoy preschool, surprising us everyday with many new words he was beginning to read, and the cursive writing he was beginning to attempt with good instruction from his teachers. Although he still has a way to go, he gave trying out cursive a very good effort.  Yes, that's right: cursive, in PRESCHOOL!!!

While we always enjoy Li'l J's spunk and enthusiasm, it was in March that he really began to challenge his teachers at school (because he finally felt TOTALLY comfortable there and let them see his TRUE bouncy/noisy self).  Once he began earning "yellow-lights" instead of "green-lights" at school for his behavior, we knew it was time to help him dial down his favorite speed : warp, and volume: BOOMING.

It was around this same time that Sacrament Meetings on Sundays as well as taking Li'l J to the grocery store became extra challenging.  Li'l J is just so full of energy that it is difficult for him to keep it all contained for long periods of time or for him to understand when to appropriately let it out, but since he will be starting kindergarten in the fall all this practice has been good for him...if not a bit of a strain on our nerves!

Fortunately we are surrounded by LOTS of loving and caring friends, neighbors, and ward members that are always willing to pitch in at a moments notice and/or offer words of encouragement.  One of my favorites is a very sweet grandpa in the ward that ALWAYS gets a good chuckle watching me try to help Li'l J keep a lid on his enthusiasm. Gpa B always says, "I LOVE to hear him in Sacrament Meeting, he brings me such joy!"  Or "just remember Sister S, these are the BEST days of your life and once he's grown you are going to miss this!!"  My response is always, "I'm TRYING to enjoy this...really I am!"

Below Li'l J is pictured with his friend H.  H, and her family live in another state but came to our area to visit during their Spring Break in March.  Li'l J and H have known each other since they were babies and sadly don't get to see each other too often or for very long.  Li'l J enjoys playing with H during our brief visits and often asks about her and when he might get to see her again, especially when other little girls in our area with the same name as H are mentioned or are around.  So sweet!!

Z, good luck with getting back to blogging! I've noticed over the years a pattern with me that my blogging tapers off in early June and picks back up in late Aug. Hmmm. I wonder why that is?

I will look forward to seeing what you blog about next. And I'll have my tissues ready.
