March 2012: Legoland

The night after we picked up our newly repaired car, we loaded it up and headed out to the San Diego area for the weekend.  We drove at night while the kids slept, which made it possible for us to cut a couple of hours off of the drive.

We spent the next day, Friday, having a really fun time at Legoland.  Since Spring Break for most people wouldn't start until after the weekend, the park was not packed which made for short-ish lines.

Right after entering Legoland, we passed by a gift shop that had statues of Harry Potter and Hagrid. Of course we stopped to take pictures with them!

C-sta was very excited to drive by herself!

The boys enjoyed driving too.

Posing with a princess, knights in shining armor,
and picking a witch's nose--
all in a days work at Legoland!

Both boys were able to ride this time--
they had so much fun!

While J-rod and the boys enjoyed some "big kid" rides,
C-sta and I enjoyed some of the rides more our speed.

While Legoland was a little piece of heaven on earth for M and Li'l J, the area of the park they looked forward to ALL. DAY. LONG. was the "Star Wars Mini-land".

So long from Legoland!

The last time we had been to Legoland was four years prior when I was pregnant with C-sta and when M and Li'l J were not quite tall enough to ride all the rides.  This time both boys were able to ride all the rides and enjoyed doing so with J-rod.  C-sta also enjoyed herself, and on one ride even declared with much gusto "That was the BEST ride EVER!"

When the kids stopped at one of the free play/build stations, I took a moment to sit down and just enjoy the moment. Here is what I wrote in my journal:

"I'm currently listening to the ocean breeze rustle the leaves of the trees behind me, the birds singing in the trees, and the laughter of people having fun here at Legoland in Carlsbad, Ca."

The next morning I wrote:

"Li'l J and C-sta are having fun putting together the new Lego sets they got yesterday.  M helped C-sta build her Princess Aurora set. C-sta doesn't like that M is literally "thinking outside the box" and building the set differently than suggested by the pictures on the outside of the box. Ha, ha, ha!   Okay, now that he's done she's decided it's not so bad after all.  She's a little stinker!"
