Sunday afternoon we met up with one of my nieces and her husband for lunch and then went to visit her mom and sisters, who had just moved to Oceanside the day before (literally ten minutes from where we were staying!).
Visiting with family.
First with cousin S and her hubby M,
then with Aunt S, cousin A, and cousin A.
What is up with my goofy smile?
I must have inherited it from my kids!
Monday morning we packed up, checked out of our hotel and headed to the beach for an hour or so.
Carlsbad Beach
We didn't take swim suits with us on this trip, thinking we wouldn't use them but learned at both amusement parks and then at the beach that when headed to California regardless of the time of year, ALWAYS pack swim suits!
No swimsuits? No problem!
M and Li'l J at first were only going to put their feet in the COLD ocean, but were eventually enticed by the waves and ended up getting in waist high.
C-sta was not interested in getting her feet wet at all! She spent most of the time we were there glued to her Daddy's side.
Daddy and his little princess
When C-sta did get the courage up to approach the ocean, she enjoyed throwing rocks at the waves. It was her own version of skipping rocks.
Family hero's ready for action!
Me and my baby girl
SO happy together!
While M and J enjoyed jumping in the waves and J-rod and C-sta watched the boys, I had a good time taking pictures of all the fun the boys were having, plus the beauty all around us.
I LOVE these guys!!!
After enjoying the beach (nearly long enough for my liking), we grabbed some lunch at Islands (a favorite CA spot) then headed toward home. So long good old CA, hopefully we'll be back sooner rather than later!
