NY Friends

NY Reunions

We had a couple of fun get-together's with friends from NY in November...in AZ of all places!!

First we attended the wedding reception of a beautiful young woman from our ward in NY. When we first moved to NY, K was finishing up high school and getting ready to go to BYU. She and her younger sister used to babysit for us and we also became pretty good friends with her parents through our monthly dinner group dates.

K married a young man from a town about 80 miles from where we live. It was so much fun to visit with her and meet her sweetheart! Boy did it make us feel old to think that one of our favorite babysitters is now married! Congrats K and S families!!

In the middle of November, we hosted our first out-of-state visitor's at our house--the L family. We were happy to see some familiar faces!! The L family came to AZ to attend a wedding and visit family in the area, and we were lucky enough to have them come spend a day visiting with us! Big J and P have known each other since BYU; we then moved from UT to NY at the same time, lived in SC at the same time, and then ended up in the same ward again in NY--since Big J and P are in the same line of work, we've tried to interest them in moving out here to AZ, but it just doesn't look like that's part of life's plan for them right now. P, S, and H--it sure was fun to see you and get all caught up! Thanks for making the trek all the way out to the West Valley to see us!!

Their adorable little girl H and our lil' J watched a movie together--Finding "Memo" is a favorite for them both, so they snuggled under our fuzzy "Memo" blanket while they watched. They attempted to play together, I say "attempted" because while H shares very well, lil' J doesn't; plus, despite what Big J and I have tried to teach him, he has yet to figure out that being nice to little girls will actually work in his favor someday!! Sorry H!! After "playtime," we took them outside with the intention of soaking just their little feet in the pool, but by the time we were done they both required an entire wardrobe change!

I am so glad we could come and visit. H talks often about little J and gets excited when she sees pictures of him. Hopefully we can reunite somewhat soon again!!
