Last weekend went a little something like this:
Saturday night while the boys stayed at home with a fun babysitter, J-rod and I went out on a dinner date to a Brazilian Steakhouse. The only other time we've been to such a restaurant was years ago in UT. At the one in UT I remember there being some pretty exotic meats available on the menu, but not at this one. The one we went to just had lots of YUMMY bbq'd "traditional" meats like beef, poultry, lamb, and pork. The flavorings were quite varied, but absolutely delicious!
Sunday after church we had a fun sub-sandwich bar for lunch, and then while J-rod and Li'l J took a long nap M and I worked on decorating the house, made a peach cobbler (for J-rod's cake), and at J-rod's request: Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with garlic bread.
Happy Birthday Dad!
Once nap time was over, J-rod and Li'l J came down for pictures and presents. The boys were so excited to have their dad open what they had picked out for him, and of course Li'l J wanted to help! It was just fun for me to watch the boys be so excited for their dad!

After presents we sat down to eat our yummy dinner, talked to family that had called with birthday wishes for J-rod, and then headed out to a tri-stake fireside where we got to listen to the acapella group Eclipse share their amazing vocal talents and speak powerfully about the positive influence music can have in our lives. When the fireside was over, J-rod gave the closing prayer. When we got back home, we were finally able to enjoy the yummy cobbler!
M helps with the cobbler, one he can actually eat too!
