Family Reunion Portrait Session

The fourth of July we all headed down to Zephyr Cove bright and early for a family portrait session. All week long we had had BEAUTIFUL clear-blue skies, but wouldn't you know it...not this morning! Due to all the fires in California, we had a good hazy coverage...at least this time around perhaps we wouldn't all be squinty-eyed like at the last reunion portrait session two years ago!

Regardless of what the skies were doing, the setting Dad had chosen for the session was absolutely beautiful and we knew we were in good hands as Mom had chosen an excellent photographer from their home stake. Thank you T for coming all the way up to Lake Tahoe to take our pictures!

The setting for our portraits: rock outcropping at Zephyr Cove

The top view was taken from the beach at Zephyr Cove a few days before...notice the clear blue skies and calm waters? The bottom view was taken from the rock outcropping the morning of...notice the absence of blue skies and the choppy waters? Let's just say these conditions made for some fun wind-swept hair-do's...sigh, oh well.

An overcast Zephyr Cove

The pictures in the slide show below are just a sneak-peak of the hundreds of pictures taken by the photographer during the session. These pictures were taken by amateurs (Zippy, J-rod, and Mom S.) on our own camera, and by no means reflect the work of the photographer (trust me, hers are SO much better!) While the photographer has posted the pictures she took on her website, I have yet to order our copies. Once we get them, I'm sure we'll share her artistry!
