We also sent out Christmas cards, a family newsletter, and a picture to friends and family. Just in case we somehow missed you, take a peak here--
“Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes; Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes;Silver white winters that melt into springs…”Here are a few of our favorite things in 2008—
J-rod (old): No more studying! After 18 months of intense training, he passed all necessary qualifications to become a licensed Senior Reactor Operator, (aka “Homer Simpson’s” boss.) Enjoys spending his time off with his family and serving in the Spanish branch at church.
Zippy (older): Blogging, photography, traveling, swimming with the kids, and using her new cell phone. Watching movies with her family and going on dates with her sweetheart. Reading and discussing Book Club selections—the Twilight series is at the top of the list of course! Best of all—now that he’s licensed, having J-rod home more often!
M (7): Learning—though officially in 2nd grade, he’s attends 3rd grade for a portion of the day. Taking piano lessons from Dad and figuring out how to play new songs on his own. Reading just about anything he can get his hands on! Riding bikes and playing video games with friends. And most recently, anything and everything Harry Potter and Star Wars!
Li'l J (3): Sports—watching football and basketball on T.V. with Dad; going to AZ Diamondback Games with the family. Riding his Diego scooter outside with M and friends. Singing—the ABC’s, Twinkle Little Star, and Called to Serve.
And our very favorite of all:
Having a new family member! We are happy to introduce beautiful little A. J. S. who joined our family on August 22, 2008 at 8:49 pm. Yes, that’s right folks we added a girl to the mix! Though Zippy LOVES having a little girl to be girly with—making bows for her to wear and often dressing her in pink--A is a true daddy’s girl…always attached to Daddy’s side whenever he’s home! Just as soon as he walks in the door after school, M heads over to greet his little sister—he too hates to be away from her. Li'l J loves his little sister so much, that sometimes it’s a little too much! Baby A is a happy, always smiling, quickly growing little one that has added so much joy to each of our lives.
We count our family and friends, and the time we get to spend with you among the many favorites in our lives! We wish you all the very best for the coming year! We are grateful for the life of our Savior Jesus Christ and for the opportunity we have daily to follow his example.
May Heavenly Father shower you with His choicest blessings that you may continue to enjoy your favorite things in the coming year!

Thanks for the Christmas card!! I am glad that I have good friends like you that send cards even though I am not on top of things in return. It is great to hear from you. I get cards done about every three years...so there is hope for next year. I added you to my blog, so hopefully we will keep in better touch.
I forgot to mention how cute you family is. Your baby is a doll. I bet she gets spoiled by her big brothers and parents. How fun!
