One of the COOLEST Backyards

Remember the "fabulous swim instructor in our ward", that I mentioned in the last post?  Not only is she great at teaching kids how to swim, she also happens to have quite a knack for maintaining one of the COOLEST backyards our boys have had the opportunity to roam around in!  B taught our boys so much more than just how to improve their abilities in the water (she worked on improving M's strokes and float...since he already knew how to swim) and we are so grateful to her for that.

If ever a bird or insect flew by while our boys were with B, she made sure to identify them for the boys as well as tell them what each one does for us in the circle of life.  After each lesson she would let the boys explore in her backyard for a bit, and they absolutely LOVED it!

Not only did she have large, beautiful shade trees where many nests housed a variety of birds;

but those trees were also GREAT for climbing (away from the nests of course!).

Those trees also made for great photo ops.

After tree climbing the boys would hunt for lizards,

and feed the chickens;
Elvis was their FAVORITE!

On our way out to the car we would always get to taste some of B's YUMMY home grown grapes,

as well as check on the progress of the lizard that she was drying out in the heat.

Thank you B for all that you shared with us this summer!  You are an amazing woman, mother, wife, teacher, and a wealth of knowledge.  Thank you for the fun memories. : )

My girls love B's backyard. They had so much fun exploring one day and still talk about it.
