One of the greatest joys as a parent is to watch your children grow in their abilities and confidence in themselves, especially in areas that were previously difficult for them. Thanks to a fabulous swim instructor in our ward, this summer we enjoyed watching Li'l J as he went from enjoying himself in the pool only when wearing a lifejacket...
Early in May
...hesitant to put his face in the water or to try swimming without his lifejacket unless it was with help from an adult;
During swim lessons in late June
to agreeing to jump into the pool without the lifejacket as long as someone held his hand;
with J-rod on the 4th of July
to completely flying solo!
So it's official now, we have another swimmer in our family! One of these days I'll have my camera out there to document him doing cannonballs off the diving board. Yes, even diving into the deep end without a lifejacket on doesn't phase him now! Way to go Li'l J, you've come a long way and we are so proud of you!
