Yes folks it's true, Baby A is now a year (and almost a month) old! *Sigh* We celebrated on her birthday by having a BBQ and pool party with some of her biggest fans.
As her guests began to arrive, Baby A took on a little bit of a somber attitude that she maintained for the rest of her party...SO not like her at all! We think she took on such a serious tone because she could tell that all this attention was for her and she wasn't quite sure what to make of it.
Our good friend K (Baby A's second mom) took her outside to try and get some solo pictures of her in her birthday outfit. Baby A wasn't too thrilled to pose that day, so K wasn't very successful in getting very many good pics. The one below is probably the best of the bunch:
The Birthday Girl
Though Baby A normally LOVES being in the pool, on her birthday she didn't seem to care to be in it. Her fans sure had a good time though.

It wasn't until we brought out her YUMMY Costco cake that a sparkle of her normal cheerful self began to emerge. Her two big brothers helped her blow out her candles and then we let her have a taste.

After the initial taste, Baby A was given her very own piece which she devoured with much eagerness!
Yep, that is one good piece of cake!
Once Baby A was nice and washed up from the cake facial she gave herself, it was time to open presents! Although she didn't like having anything to do with the wrapping paper or tissue paper her gifts came wrapped in, she was interested in checking out what came inside the gifts.
No, I REALLY don't want to touch that paper thanks!
But I will gladly play with that fun puzzle!

Towards the end of her party, Baby A fell asleep and took a nice long nap on the grass (in the shade and under the misters.) Once she woke up, all her party guests were gone and guess who was back to her normal cheerful self? Guess all the fuss of the party really was just more than she knew what to do with. Maybe next year she too will be able to enjoy her party!

Your baby is hardly a baby anymore. It seems like just yesterday you were pregnant with her and now she's a whole year old! She's such a pretty thing!
