After starting the day off at M's school and dropping J off at his school, J-rod took me and C-sta to Costco for some shopping (what girl doesn't want to shop on her birthday?) and then to Claim Jumper for lunch (have I mentioned that is one of my FAVORITE restaurants? I 'heart' Claim Jumper!!). Never having taken any of our kids there, we were pleasantly surprised when they brought our Littlest Jumper (C-sta) a complimentary plate of goodies to eat for lunch...how nice! We had a super yummy lunch, and then shared a little bit of HEAVEN on a spoon:

That night the whole family attended the Christmas Concert put on by M's school. It was a little chaotic at first, but listening to the great Christmas music played by the band and then sung by all those beautiful little voices totally made it worth it! Matthew enjoyed visiting with his friends before and after, while Li'l J and C-sta tolerated the chaos of the crowd and length of our stay surprisingly well.
When the concert was over and we were done visiting with friends, we headed home for cake and presents. J-rod got me a dozen of my favorite roses and a yummy oreo/chocolate chip ice cream cake. The kids and J-rod gave me a book by one of my favorite authors and a digital video camera--whoo-hoo!
I also received some very nice and thoughtful gifts from our families--thank you to all for making this a great birthday!
