M enjoying Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Little J gets comfy with Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone

This summer our boys discovered Harry Potter. M started reading vol. 1 in May and has spent much of his spare time since reading through the subsequent volumes. M's rate of reading has slowed down since school started up again last week, but he is still reading at a steady clip--currently making his way through the second half of vol. 5.

Following his big brother's steps, Little J has begun to show an early appreciation for reading. He has recently claimed vol. 1 of the series, as his personal copy ("MY tata!) and he takes it everywhere he goes. No, he doesn't know how to read yet, but he likes to sit curled up with the book as he turns the pages and pretends to read.

M's plan for the immediate future is to have mom transform his and little J's room into a Harry Potter getaway. Mom is still ironing out the details in her mind, but as soon as she complete's the transformation rest assured that pictures will be posted!

Taking the lead from her boys, Z reread the series this summer in preparation for the release of vol. 7. Big J, the member of our family with the least amount of spare time available, is making his way through vol. 6 so as to jog his memory before delving into vol. 7.
